Your book is only as good as its sources.
History Co-Author researches well on its own. But the course asks you to do one thing yourself: find the primary sources your book stands on (the letters, the diaries, the official reports), download them, and hand them to Setup before it researches.
Do it and the research gets faster, uses less of your AI plan, and the quotations come out exact. Skip it, or get it wrong, and your book has less to stand on.
"An AI can name a source that does not exist, or a letter nobody wrote, and sound completely sure of it."History Co-Author course, Module 10
For a beginner, this is where books stall. Which archive? Which file? Is it even real? That's the step my bonus does for you.
History Source Finder
Web software I built for History Co-Author buyers. Type your subject in plain words. It searches the Internet Archive, Project Gutenberg and Wikisource at once, shows only sources that really exist, checks that each one has readable text, and packs your picks into a Research Sources folder with the note to paste into Setup.
Real sources, never invented
Every result comes straight from a public archive, with a link to the original. The AI plans the search; it never makes up a source.
Written at the time, first
Letters, journals, reports and testimony from the people who were there come first, even when they were printed decades later.
"Clean text" check
It tests every source for typed text, so Setup can quote it exactly. Scans the machine read badly are flagged.
Mentions count
"Harmar ×75" shows how often your people are really named inside, so you know a book covers your story, not just its title.
One click to Research Sources
Download a ready folder, a highlights file of the key passages, and a copy-ready note for Setup.
